“Thy word have I hidden in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalms 119:11)
The Great Possession - “Thy word”
The Great Place - “in my heart”
The Great Purpose - “that I might not sin against thee”
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere (pure) milk of the word, that ye may grow by it”
(I Peter 2:2)
(Not a duty but a delight)

The REASONS for a Quiet Time
Daily communion with God through the Word and prayer. One can be doctrinally correct and yet be spiritually dead.
Must guard your daily meeting with God fearlessly if you are to keep it.

Vital to your Spiritual Commitment
Your spiritual commitment will be as great as your private devotions.

Vital for Spiritual Cleansing
Though we are initially cleansed by the precious blood of Christ we receive day by day cleansing from the Word of God (Psalms 119:9; John 15:3; 7:17)

Vital for Spiritual Counsel
You will never know the true principles that determine a life of holiness without letting the Word of God “dwell in you richly.”

Vital for Spiritual Conflict
During the temptation of Jesus He fed His soul on the book of Deuteronomy.
