TOPIC:The Ableness of Christ

                  by Rev. Dr. Reg Dunlap

TEXT:Matthew 9:28

“And Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this?

They said unto him, “yea, Lord.”

In tonight's message I want to use the King James Version of the Bible in order to develop my topic. I want you to notice three words as found in our text: “I am able.” Now before we take a closer look at these words, I want us to think of the many people in the Bible who were not able.

In Matthew 22:46 the Pharisees were not able to answer a word in reply to Jesus.

In Luke 13:24 many people will seek to enter the straight gate but will not be able.

In Luke 14:30 the man was not able to finish the tower.

In John 21:6 the disciples were not able to draw in the net of fishes.

In Revelation 15:8 no man was able to enter at that moment into the Temple.

In I Corinthians 3:2 the believers were not able to eat or digest the meat of the Word of

God.

In II Timothy 3:7 some men shall not be able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

In Revelation 5:3 no man was able to open the book.

In Romans 8:39 no man, no thing, no creature is able to separate us from the love of God.

There you have it. “Not able! Not able!” Compare that to this truth: CHRIST IS ABLE!

I.

Let's begin with this: Christ is able to HEAL you. Notice the words of Jesus to those blind men: “Believe ye that I am able to do this?
